We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel or Law Clerk to join the Egis Legal, Ethics & Compliance team servicing Egis’ Australian and New Zealand projects.
In this role, you will provide legal support across contract reviews, compliance and risk management while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. This includes the review of design and construction contracts, subcontract agreements, software licencing and software as a service contract and providing training on legal issues to the broader business.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills, with a view to working on major projects, disputes, insurances and other key areas for the business. With positions open in our Sydney, Melbourne and Newcastle offices come join the team!
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct contract reviews and negotiations to support business operations
- Provide legal operations support across compliance, risk, and regulatory matters
- Deliver ad hoc legal training to business teams
- Support senior lawyers on various legal matters
- Offer clear, solution-focused legal advice to internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
Qualifications
- 0–2 years PQE.
- Experience in contract law and ability to manage contract negotiations, preferred but not necessary.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
- A resilient team player, with a can-do attitude.
- Relevant rights to live and work in Australia full-time.
