About the role

Remember the last time you opened a bottle of champagne, a cold beer after a hard day’s work or a bottle of sparkling mineral water to quench the thirst, well it was probably made by us, we are O-I and we love that we make more glass containers than anyone in the world.

O-I has more than a century of experience crafting pure, sustainable, brand-building glass packaging for many of the world’s best-known food and beverage brands. We are proud to provide high quality glass packaging for beer, wine, spirits, food, non-alcoholic beverages, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.

As the Machine Repair Supervisor, you'll lead a skilled team responsible for the repair, maintenance, installation, and rebuild of critical glass manufacturing equipment. In this highly visible leadership role, you'll drive equipment reliability, minimize downtime, support continuous improvement initiatives, and develop the next generation of machine repair talent.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead, coach, and develop machine repair mechanics, apprentices, and technical personnel.
  • Plan department work schedules and direct assignments of personnel and equipment to support production priorities.
  • Oversee all phases of machine repair, maintenance, installation, rebuilds, and equipment reliability programs.
  • Conduct inspections of forming equipment, including feeder mechanisms, bottle machines, and bottle handling equipment.
  • Lead preventive maintenance efforts and proactively identify potential equipment failures before they result in unplanned downtime.
  • Review bottle quality data, mold equipment operating data, blueprints, specifications, and job histories to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with Production, Process, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to improve equipment performance, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Analyze operations and make recommendations regarding personnel, equipment, department policies, procedures, and organizational improvements.
  • Manage machine parts inventory, maintenance supplies, equipment purchases, and vendor relationships.
  • Support job change improvement initiatives and plant-wide operational excellence efforts.
  • Oversee the Machine Repair Apprentice Program and support technical training and succession planning initiatives.
  • Travel to other plants within the network to support machine installations, conversion projects, audits, and best practice sharing.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote a strong safety-first culture.

We're seeking a hands-on leader with strong machine repair expertise, a proactive maintenance mindset, and a passion for developing people in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma required; technical degree, engineering degree, or additional college coursework preferred.
  • Prior machine repair experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience leading maintenance, repair, or technical teams.
  • Strong background in preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to identify equipment issues before failure occurs, allowing repairs to be planned and downtime minimized.
  • Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding complex manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong blueprint reading and technical drawing interpretation skills.
  • Knowledge of equipment reliability, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
