Resident Engineer (Civil )

Client : New Mangalore Port Authority (NPMA ) ,

Resident Engineer  shall be responsible for qualitative technical and administrative services for implementation and management of the construction of Berth and associated structures  project for the overall performance of  Supervision team for the entire project.

The major tasks for the t Resident Engineer shall include but not limited to

the following:

1. Assist the Client with the Review of the Contractors’ securities,

insurance and safety plans;

2. scrutiny of the Contractor’s work programme, and scheme for the

deployment of plant, equipment and machinery for approval of the

General Manager (Operations);

3. assist the Client  in the interpretation of

provisions in the Contract documents and technical specification;

4. assist the Authority/ Chief Engineer (Civil) in handing over the site and

issuing order to commence the works;

6. Regular Supervision of works and Evolve and implement Quantity and Quality control procedures , evolve criteria for the acceptance of works;

7. prepare and issue variation orders after the approval of the Client ;

8. assist the Client in the evaluation of Contractor’s claims;

9. verify and certify Contractor’s Interim Certificates and bills for approval of the Engineer –in – charge of the project

10 . assist the Contarctor  in monitoring Physical and Financial

Progress of the works;

11. prepare quarterly project budgets and estimates;

12. Conducting monthly progress meetings.

13. compile monthly progress reports and prepare Quarterly Reports.

14. strictly monitor the progress of work for timely completion of the

project.

15. verify and certify Contractor's Statements at completion;

16. prepare Project Completion Report;

17. time schedule and management of Team’s resources; and

18. advising the Contractor /Client  in all matter related to the progress of works, with particular reference to delays, possiblereasons and mitigating measures.

Master/ bachelor's in civil with 15 years in port sector

He should have led the team in PMC work for not less than 5 (five) Fishing harbor/ Or Nor less than the 5 Port Sector Projects which consists of breakwaters, berths, jetties, quays, dredging, reclamation and other civil works.(Minimum one work in each assignment .)
